When to Consider a Special Needs Trust

As you begin the estate planning process, you may be making many decisions about your future, such as making a living trust and designating a power of attorney to make certain decisions on your behalf in the event you become incapacitated and are unable to make them yourself. Some of the decisions you make regarding your estate plans may also be for the benefit of others, such as creating trusts and naming beneficiaries to receive distributions from your estate.

Estate Planning Terms You Should Know

Whether you are just getting started thinking about your future, or you are ready to prepare your estate plans, there are some terms you should know that will help you throughout the process. Of course, your estate planning lawyer will be available to help guide you along the way and answer any questions that come up, but if you know some of the basic terminology before you begin, it could save you time and money.
